A Clarke University alum, Sam played four years of college softball at the Dubuque, Iowa institution, where she refined her skills and deepened her love for the game. Following graduation, Sam transitioned into coaching, now with two years of experience at the high school level and a year of giving private lessons.

Sam's coaching philosophy centers on ensuring players have fun while improving their skills. She believes that each lesson should be enjoyable and educational, focusing on fundamentals like footwork and mechanics before advancing to more complex techniques. Her goal is for every player to leave each session having learned something new and having enjoyed their time on the field.

Sam's commitment is evident in her daily enthusiasm. She relishes the opportunity to introduce new drills and watch her players progress, aiming to help them reach the level of play she once achieved in college.

For Coach Sam, softball is more than just a game—it's a lifelong passion. Her approach is designed to keep players motivated and resilient, ensuring they have a positive experience whether they're in practice or during a game.
