Tyler Friel

Coach Tyler brings a wealth of experience to Elite, drawing from a distinguished background in pitching that began at Marmion Academy. At Marmion, he was a standout two-year Varsity letterman and played a key role in two Regional Championship teams. His exceptional skills earned him numerous accolades, including All-Area First Team and All-Conference honors twice. Notably, he was part of a combined Perfect Game and a No-Hitter during his high school career.

Following high school, Coach Tyler continued to pursue his passion for baseball at North Central College. Unfortunately, an eye injury cut his collegiate playing career short, but it redirected his focus towards coaching. He has since dedicated himself to helping local athletes excel, starting with his coaching stint at Marmion, where he contributed to the team's impressive 3rd place finish in the state in 2016.

In addition to his high school coaching experience, Coach Tyler has been involved with several prominent organizations, including Top Pick Athletics, Bulls/Sox Academy, and most recently, Reds Baseball Academy. At Reds Baseball Academy, he led the 2025 team as head coach for three years.

Coach Tyler is deeply committed to his coaching philosophy, emphasizing repetitive arm care and helping athletes understand and reach their full potential. His passion for developing young players and shaping them into well-rounded individuals drives his dedication to the sport and his coaching career.
